The robot can choose the wire to be clamped to the drum or the steel plate as required. To reduce the frequency of wire changes, the welding robot should choose a barrel wire, but due to the use of barrel wire, the wire feed hose is very long and has a high resistance, which requires a high quality of wire such as stiffness.

When using a wire with a slightly lower quality copper plating, the copper plating on the surface of the wire will fall off due to friction, the content of the tube will be reduced and the resistance to high speed wire feeding will increase. The wire cannot be fed out smoothly, causing jittering and an unstable arc, which affects the quality of the weld seam. In serious cases, the phenomenon of jamming occurs, the robot has to be shut down and the wire conduit has to be cleaned in time.
